VIDEO: Letter carrier arrested, charged with DUI in Boynton Beach
BOYNTON BEACH - A letter carrier was found slumped over the wheel of his mail truck on Wednesday, but authorities were surprised to find out why after someone called police thinking he had a medical problem. Kevin Crocilla, 29, was instead drunk, according to police. He tested three times over the .08 legal limit allowed while driving -- and police charged him with driving under the influence. At about noon, Crocilla's truck was found parked on the side of the road in the 1400 block of Northwest First Court, but when Boynton Beach Fire-Rescue arrived, it was clear he wasn't suffering any ailments. "It was immediately apparent that he was intoxicated," said police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater. Crocilla told police he went to work at 11 a.m. and bought mouthwash at a drugstore to mask the smell of alcohol. He said he had drank wine all night and then drank half a bottle of mouthwash to cover it up.
