KQ’s midday drive, Wally Walker, was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A native of the sparkling city Wally went to Edison High School in which his road to radio began. It was then as a junior in high school Wally began to DJ for 88.5 KBEM, a FM station in Minneapolis. Since then, Wally has traveled throughout the mid-west working for stations in Sioux Falls South Dakota, Waterloo Iowa and Austin Minnesota until he hung his hat and made Minneapolis his home again.



In finding out what makes this KQ DJ tick we dug up some pretty interesting facts about Wally. It was no surprise that Wally is a big fan of the Packers … just kidding this DJ is a die-hard Vikings fan and also likes the Minnesota Twins. Even though Wally is from Minn-e-sotah his favorite vacation spot is any place warm during a Minnesota winter, and winters in Minnesota aren’t warm dont-cha-know. His favorite color is yellow and his favorite food is “anything edible.”



Wally admires his parents the most for putting up with him and is most proud of keeping his sanity in the radio business. He goes by nicknames Waldildo, Walmental or anything that begins with Wal. He says, “You’ll have to ask Tom Barnard for anymore nicknames.”
