It never came to pass, but Rob Halford always dreamed of there being a British version of the “Big Four,” featuring the UK’s most popular metal acts.
In the US, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax toured together under that banner. Across the pond, that bill could have consisted of Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden if Priest’s frontman had gotten his wish.
“Sadly, two-fourths of that has gone, but the music lives forever. That’s the main thing,” Halford tells Heavy Consequence.
While both Priest and Maiden had a rivalry in the 80s, Halford is totally on board with the two acts jointly hitting the road, feeling, “It would be a spectacular event.”
