At the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Bono and The Edge of U2 performed a set in Kyiv on Sunday.
The two played 10-songs in the Khreshchatyk subway station, which now serves as a bomb shelter. Rolling Stone reports that they were joined by a number of Ukrainian musicians, who’ve given up their regular work to join the armed forces in their effort to repel the Russian invasion of their homeland.
President @ZelenskyyUa invited us to perform in Kyiv as a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and so that’s what we’ve come to do. — Bono and The Edge #StandWithUkraine
