“Take Me Home Tonight” singer Eddie Money died on Friday, September 13th at age 70. Just last month, Money revealed that he had stage 4 esophageal cancer.

“We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.” – Eddie Money’s family, via statement

Money reached the peak of his fame in the ’80s with a string of hit singles including… “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” Money, whose real name was Edward Joseph Mahoney, had continued performing into 2019, but recent health problems forced him to cancel a planned summer tour.

Over his career, Money released 11 studio albums and sold over 28 million records. He also recently starred in a reality show on AXS TV called ‘Real Money.’

Money is survived by wife of 30 years, Laurie, and the couple’s 5 children.
