The late John Lennon returned to the stage Thursday, April 28th for a duet with his former Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney.
The reunion occurred during the opening show of McCartney’s Got Back tour in Spokane, Washington, where the music legend performed “I’ve Got a Feeling” alongside video footage of Lennon. The song was the first in a series of Beatles tracks that McCartney performed for his encore.
Among the others were “Blackbird,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Hey Jude” and “She Came In Through the Bathroom Window.” McCartney says the idea to include Lennon in the show came from director Peter Jackson, who helmed the Get Back film.
“So, Peter Jackson, the director of the Get Back film, he texts me one day,” McCartney told the audience. “And he says, ‘We can extract John’s voice. He can sing with you live.'”
